I saw the Living Socail deal come through this morning. I was wondering if we could apply the $200 of eyewear towards contacts? Or is it only for glasses? Thanks for your help!
March 31st, 2012 at 4:15 pm
Hi Carrie, We sell our contact lenses at the price of 800Contacts so there are no additional discounts available. If you need a contact lens exam, call the office to schedule and we can give you an alternative discount for this promotion through Monday. Thank you so much for reaching out to us. You can contact me directly at Rob@UrbanOptiks.com Sincerely, Dr. Rob Diegel

Do you have children size glasses. My face is very narrow and usually have to get child glasses. Thanks Shelly

Hi!
What is the range of price for your eyeglass frames?
Thanks!

Hi Tara, We have frames from $149, but our average frame is about $299. Almost all of our frames are designed and made in France, Italy, Germany or Japan. We even have a great new collection designed and made in California
So, I admit they may be pricier than the average glasses out there, but there is a significant advantage in style, quality and durability. Stop by and take a look see- I think we have something for just about everyone

Hey Shelly, We have a great selection for those with very small or very large faces. I do all of the frame buying, and I know we have chunky plastics, modern metals, classic ovals, and funky cat eyes- all for small faces! These are not your kids glasses
I am a bit of a shopaholic myself so our inventory is over the top. I do have frames for children, but I am sure you won’t have to go there. I just finished a fun visit to Vision Expo East in New York City just to make sure our selection is one of the best in the mid-west and fashion forward. Stop by anytime for your eyewear fashion consultation, Cheers, Dr. Rob

Do you accept Cigna Vision Insurance?
April 1st, 2012 at 2:32 pm
Can I apply the living socials deal to prescription sunglasses? Do you have sunglasses in stock? Or could you order from Oakley and could I use the living socials deal for that?
April 1st, 2012 at 4:43 pm
Most Cigna vision plans are handled by Vision Service Plan or VSP. We are in network for them among others. We also accept many medical plans if your chief issue is medical related such as headaches, itchy or dry eyes, eye pain or infection. No promotions can be combined with vision plans because they have already negotiated extreme discounts. Vsp grossed 3.6 billion in 2009 and have power to control all Independent Optoms. I hope we do not go the way of the independent pharmacist. I digress… Cheers, Dr. Rob

Michael, we have a great selection of sunglasses that would be eligible for the promotion, however, we do not have Oakley in stock any longer. We can get Oakley and do prescription lenses at a very good price, although I doubt $200 off would be possible. If you were doing high end prescription lenses we may be able to make it work. Do you have a specific frame and how high is your prescription? We have the best hi definition digital polarized NXT lenses available, and again, a ton of great frames in stock. I will do the best I can for you if you do want the Oakleys. Cheers, Rob Diegel (please email any specifics to rob@urbanoptiks.com)

Hi Erin,
We do have Dolce & Gabbana which are made in Italy, but not the D&G line (China). We have a ton of Geek Chic styles (I bet we have 300!). The frame prices range from $179 and up to $549, with most of the best styles about $299. Most of our frames are made in France, Japan, Italy, and Germany- we find they last longer, require less adjustments, and are more stylish. Some of the great brands we have are Vue Dc, Tom Ford, Chanel, Elizabeth & James, Prada, Seraphin, Ic!Berlin and Kala. Aspheric single vision hi-index 1.67 lenses (extra thin) with premium non-glare are $279. Polycarbonate (which has the highest distortion) does save about $30. We rarely recommend this material. Please email me if you have any more questions Rob@UrbanOptiks.com I look forward to seeing you soon, Sincerely, Dr. Rob O^O

Dr. Rob,
I have a pair of Serengeti sunglasses, one lense is shattered the other seems to be ok, the frame is good and needs nose rest. Does your office repair?

I’m considering the living social deal for my mom but she is elderly and some eyeglass places in broad ripple are to snobbish for her and don’t have any basic frames. Do you have regular, senior citizen friendly frames?

I am considering the Living Social deal for my teen daughter. How many glasses under $300 do you have in stock?
Thanks

Hi Ernest, Lisa and Sherri… I am sorry, I have not been getting my blog notifications and I just saw these here. I hope you have all called the store and received answers to your questions.
Ernest; we can replace lenses in most any frame- I would suggest getting some nice plano polarized lenses for your frame. The alternative would be to send them direct to the manufacturer- they usually replace them for much less than full retail. New plano polar lenses (not transition) would be around $120. These are non-rx and not part of any promotions.
Lisa; If she has been in the “snobbish” places in Broad Ripple…well, that may have been us. There is only Ossip and us right in the village. We do not have cheap wire frames, but we do have some by Chanel, Prada and Coach that look amazing on mature women. I would be surprised if we couldn’t find anything for her. But to avoid all problems, come into the store and pre-select glasses that she likes. We are happy to give you the Living Social deal right in the office until July 10th. We do not plan on doing this once our inventory is reduced to normal levels!
Sherri, we probably have a thousand pair of glasses right now under $300! The lenses that are part of the Living Social promotion start at around $218. Probably about the cheapest you can get out of the office is with a $220 bill; not bad for a really nice frame, 2 year warranted lenses and an eye exam by the infamous Dr. Rob…
You all have a wonderful holiday weekend and stay cool- 104 out today!
Rob

Price for free defender? Frames?

Hi-
Do you sell Boz Eyewear? I live in NJ and purchased my really funky frames from a store here. My mother in Indianapolis would like to purchase similar frames.
Thank you,

Dr. Rob,
Hello, I was looking at the current groupon deal and have currently lost my insurance so thought this would be perfect. I am a full time nursing school student and am trying to budget money. In this deal it was $200 toward glasses, does that also include the lenses? I am in Kokomo, which about a 45 min drive from your location, that is why I am asking before I purchase this. Thank you, have a good day!
